Fluminense midfielder Jean has been called up by Luiz Felipe Scolari to replace the injured Hernanes ahead of Brazil’s friendly with England.

The Lazio playmaker was knocked unconscious during his side’s Coppa Italia win over Juventus earlier this week and will undergo another MRI scan on Monday.

The head of Brazil’s medical department, Jose Luis Runco, has decided the 27-year-old should be spared the international friendly at Wembley on Wednesday.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed on their website that Flu’s defensive midfielder Jean has been called up and will travel to the UK with the rest of the Seleção squad on Sunday.

The 26-year-old, who is on loan from São Paulo, recently earned his first international cap for Brazil.

Jean appeared as a second half substitute as Mano Menezes’ side beat Argentina on penalties in November.
