Lazio still want to sign Santos midfielder Felipe Anderson
Lazio have confirmed they will have another go at signing Santos midfielder Felipe Anderson at the end of the season, after a deal fell through on deadline day.
The Biancocelesti had agreed a €7.5million deal for the 19-year-old in January, but failed to get the move completed ahead of yesterday’s deadline.
However, the club’s sporting director Igli Tare has confirmed the capital club will try to conclude the deal in the summer.
He told La Lazio Siamo Noi: "The desire of the player and ours is to take this negotiation forward and conclude it in the summer.
"We did everything possible to sign him because he would have been the icing on the cake for us. We had an agreement and it should have ended positively.
"However, things then got complicated because his club and the fund who own 50 per cent of his contract couldn’t agree on how to split the fee.
"We had agreed a €7.5million fee, plus 30 per cent of any future sale amount, but the two parties could not reach a solution."
Anderson, who has been with the Peixe since 2007, has represented Brazil at Under-17 and Under-20 level to date.
