Lazio could be without playmaker Hernanes for up to a month after he was knocked unconscious during the club’s 2-1 Coppa Italia win over Juventus earlier this week.

The Brazilian midfielder had to be stretchered off following a nasty clash of heads with Luca Marrone during the semi-final win and subsequently spent the night in hospital and underwent an MRI scan.

Hernanes was released on Wednesday after no signs of serious damage but admitted that he has no recollection of his mid-air collision.

The capital club have now confirmed today that the 27-year-old will have another MRI scan next Monday, before undergoing more tests a few days later.

Rome-based newspaper Corriere Dello Sport have claimed that the influential attacker will miss at least four weeks on medical advice.

It means the former São Paulo man could be out of action for Serie A matches against Napoli and Milan, as well as a Europa League clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The Seleção international, who was recently called up by Luiz Felipe Scolari, will also miss Wednesday’s friendly with England at Wembley.
