Lazio star Hernanes has declared himself fit for the clash against Genoa on Sunday following a night in hospital with a head injury.

The Brazilian midfielder had to be stretchered off following a nasty clash of heads with Luca Marrone during his side"s 2-1 Coppa Italia semi-final win over Juventus on Tuesday.

Hernanes underwent an MRI scan but was discharged on Wednesday after the results showed no serious damage.

The 27-year-old claims to have no recollection of the mid-air collision but has already declared himself fit for Sunday"s Serie A game.

He said: “If it were up to me, I’d play the next game [away to Genoa].

“I started to regain consciousness in the ambulance, but I have no memory of the impact.

“When I arrived at the hospital, they told me we were in the final and the joy drowned out the pain. I want to thank the fans who supported me and the team as they always give us positive energy."

This Seleção international was recently called up by Luiz Felipe Scolari for Brazil"s friendly with England at Wembley on Wednesday.
