Casemiro joins Real Madrid Castilla on loan until the summer
Brazilian Under-20 World Cup winner Casemiro has joined Real Madrid Castilla on loan from São Paulo until the end of the season, with an option for a permanent move in the summer.
Casemiro, 20, has fallen out of São Paulo's first-team plans in recent times, but has been capped three times for Brazil over the past two years.
The midfielder broke onto the first-team stage in 2010, but it was in early-2011 that he established himself as a regular starter at the Morumbi—starring as São Paulo started the season with a series of consecutive wins.
Since impressing at the 2011 Under-20 World Cup, though, Casemiro has struggled at club level as São Paulo have changed manager on a regular basis. The return of Arsenal-owned midfielder Denilson in June 2011 has also played a major role in restricting his first-team opportunities.
Tall and strong, Casemiro has a reputation for being an elegant and cultured defensive midfielder and will now look to earn himself a chance to impress with Real Madrid in the next six months.
