Corinthians head coach Tite has confirmed that Alexandre Pato is expected to make his eagerly awaited Timão debut this Sunday against Oeste at Pacaembu.

Pato, 23, completed his move back to Brazilian football with the current Copa Libertadores holders earlier this month but has yet to step on the field for his new club as they look to make sure the former AC Milan striker is completley over his injury problems.

“The schedule is to have it on Sunday,” Tite told Lancenet! after Wednesday nights victory over Mogi Mirim.

“That’s the plan, to be confirmed on Friday.”

Pato has confirmed to the coach that he is fit and cannot wait to get started for his new club, but Tite is keen to take things slowly, so to not rush the young star.

“Pato does not bring the spotlight, he is in the corner, quiet. He is crazy to play. He passed me on Monday at the press conference and I said, “I will press the physical preparation.” And he said: “If you want I’m ready.”

“I said, “I will speak with Fabio (Mahseredjian, fitness coach). He has a schedule, as it was with Renato Augusto and Gil.”
