Santos’ Neymar has blasted Ituano manager Roberto Fonseca, claiming that he was the subject of racial abuse from the coach.

The Seleção star became embroiled in a touchline spat with Fonseca and furiously asked the coach whether he had called him a ‘monkey’.

TV cameras heard Neymar protest Did you call me a monkey?”, while the Santos forward then turned to the officials for their help in the incident.

Fonseca denied the accusations, saying he only called Neymar a “cai-cai”, a diver, whilst also accusing Neymar of “being deaf.”

It remains to be seen if any action will be taken over the allegations as the CBF are yet to comment on the events.

Santos secured a 1-0 win in the Campeonato Paulista fixture with a Cicero goal after the break to remain top of the league, level on points with Ponte Preta.
