Manchester United are reportedly targeting QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar as a replacement for the under pressure David De Gea.

David De Gea has come under fire for his recent displays and The Daily Express claims that Sir Alex Ferguson is prepared to bring in a more experienced man to give the Spaniard a respite.

The newspaper also claims that Barcelona’s Victor Valdes and Liverpool’s Pepe Reina were sounded out for moves but the Red Devils have turned their attention to Cesar.

They face competition from Arsenal for the Brazilian’s signature, with QPR desperate to reduce their wage bill.

QPR are looking to offload either one of their keepers, with former England international Rob Green also on their books.

Cesar has conceded 21 goals for the Rs this season as they try to get themselves off the bottom of the Premier League, as they are currently five points from safety.
