Brazilian midfielder Oscar scored a fine individual goal as Chelsea were held to a 2-2 away draw at League One side Brentford on Sunday afternoon, with only a late Fernando Torres strike preventing embarrassment.

Brentford had taken the lead late in the first-half through a goal from Marcello Trotta, before Oscar pulled his side level early in the second period. Receiving the ball, the former Internacional player showed fine footwork to free up space before blasting home an equaliser.

The game was far from over, though, as Harry Forrester put Brentford ahead once more with just 20-minutes remaining. Trotta had been pulled down by goalkeeper Ross Turnbull, giving the former Aston Villa forward the chance to level from the spot.

Chelsea brought on recent signing Demba Ba as they went in search of a late equaliser, but it was maligned Spaniard Fernando Torres who earned his side a replay with an instinctive curled strike into the corner.

The Blues were far from impressive, but their best chance of a trophy this season remains in tact. If only by the skin of their teeth.
