Real Madrid have made QPR’s Julio Cesar their primary target as they look to sign a new goalkeeper according to reports in England.

Los Blancos captain Iker Casillas suffered a hand injury that will rule the Spaniard out for up to two months and coach Jose Mourinho is moving quickly to secure another goalkeeper as a replacement.

The Daily Mail reports that QPR keeper Cesar has emerged as the first choice target after a series of impressive displays at Loftus Road.

The newspaper claims that Real would prefer to take the Brazilian on loan, but Cesar has demanded that any move should be permanent.

This move would also be a boon for QPR’s finances, as they look to reduce the wage bill and are known to be keen to offload either the Brazilian or fellow goalkeeper Rob Green.

Meanwhile, Casillas has issued a statement denying claims that he and team-mate Sergio Ramos had threatened to leave the club if Mourinho was not removed from his post at the end of the season.
