Inter lodge €15m bid for Paulinho - report
Inter have lodged a €15m bid for Corinthians midfielder Paulinho according to reports in Italy.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the San Siro outfit have made an offer of €15m for the Seleção star in an effort to replace the outgoing Phillipe Coutinho.
Coutinho is linked with a move to Premier League giants Liverpool and Inter are believed to want to replace the Brazilian as fellow playmaker Wesley Sneijder has also left the club for Galatasaray.
However, club president Massimo Moratti insists any move would need to meet with the club's newly imposed financial constraints as they bid to keep in line with UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations.
"One step at a time,” the Inter president stated following the confirmation of Sneijder's exit. “We've just done this, let's now see what we need to do.
"A player like that, with his attributes, is always useful but the cost does come into it.”
Paulinho has long been the subject of intense speculation over moves to the likes of Manchester City and Inter, with City coach Roberto Mancini an admirer of the Brazilian's talents.
