Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti admits interest in Corinthians midfielder Paulinho
Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has revealed his interest in signing Corinthians midfielder Paulinho.
Moratti has told the Italian press that he would be willing to pay €15million for Paulinho, 24, in order to get him to the San Siro.
"We will go a step at a time, a player with his characteristics (Paulinho) is always helpful, but we have to look at the costs," Moratti is quoted as saying to news agency ‘Ansa’ by Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter are looking to sign the Brazilian international to add some steel to their midfield and are willing to use the money gained from selling Wesley Sneijder to Galatasaray to fund the deal.
The Italian giants have been interested in the midfielder for over a year and had a €8million offer rejected by the South American champions last summer.
However, despite his interest in Paulinho, Moratti insisted that he believes in the current crop of player’s that coach Andrea Stramaccioni has at his disposal.
"I trust the players we have, they will continue in the race for the Champions League," he added.
