Flamengo have confirmed the signing of Rubin Kazan midfielder Carlos Eduardo on an eighteen-month loan deal.

Carlos Eduardo moved to Rubin from German club Hoffenheim in 2010 but has suffered from a number of injuries in Russia and was subsequently made available for loan by the club.

The 25-year-old was also wanted by Santos, after Paris Saint-Germain star Nenê chose to move to Qater instead, but Eduardo has opted to join the Rubro-negro on a temporary deal.

“What we can offer is the shirt of a club that has magnitude. We have parameters and our policy does not allow us to go crazy,” said director Paulo Pelaipe when asked if Flamengo would react to interest from Santos.

The Rio-based outfit are set to officially unveil the former Grêmio man on Monday, at an event held in association with new club sponsor, Peugeot.
