New Fluminense left-back Fabián Monzón delighted for the chance to play in Brazil
Fabián Monzón has expressed his delight at getting the chance to play in Brazil after signing a six month loan with Fluminense.
Monzón, 25, who started his career at Boca Juniors, has joined the Brazilian champions from French giants Lyon, despite only signing for Remi Garde’s side last summer from fellow Ligue 1 club Nice.
The Argentine, who has seven caps for his country, cannot speak Portuguese yet but told reporters he was looking forward to his new opportunity.
He told Globo Esporte: “I have a very good expectation of playing in Brazilian football. It's a beautiful country with a very good football. There is always disputes between Argentines and Brazilians, with both sides eager to win.
“So I am very happy to sign with Fluminense and play again in the Libertadores. I look forward to be able to take the field. I know the club has big ambitions and came to help everyone. Hopefully our objectives can be achieved.”
