Real Madrid are prepared to release outcast Kaká on a free transfer this January according to reports in Spain.

El Economista reports that the Real hierarchy are fed up with the Brazilian’s costly wages and poor performances after he was sent off at the weekend against Osasuna.

The sending off is said to be the last straw for many and Kaká could be offered to clubs on a free transfer in order to remove the playmaker’s €12m a year salary off the wage bill.

If no club wishes to take on the player, the publication claims that Real will be prepared to offer a mutual termination of his contract with a payoff for the remainder of his wages.

It is thought that Real is desperate to get Kaká off the club’s books so they can offer winger Cristiano Ronaldo a new deal to secure the Portguese star to the club for the near future.
