Former Fenerbahçe captain Alex de Souza will make his Coritiba debut in a friendly with Argentine side Colón this month.

The 35-year-old returned to Coritiba on a two-year deal in October, after sixteen years away from the club and nine away from Brazilian football.

The game at the Couto Pereira Stadium on January 26th takes place the day before Coritiba’s trip to Cianorte in the fourth round of the Campeonato Paranaense.

In the meantime, Alex, who left his local side for Palmeiras in 1997, will be training with the reserve team.

The Brazilian rejected approaches from other former sides Cruzeiro and Palmeiras prior to re-joining Coritiba.

Alex will be raring to go having not played competitively since his contract was terminated in Turkey in September, following a disagreement with coach Aykut Kocaman.
