Botafogo coach Oswaldo de Oliveira has expressed his confidence in his new striker Henrique and believes he will improve as the season progresses.

Henrique, 21, who was set for a loan move to Q.P.R last season before failing to attain a work permit, moved to Botafogo in December from São Paulo.

“He has been working hard but there is a burden that weighs at first,” Oliveira told Globo Esporte.

“It is normal for this to happen. But he is a player of great mobility, pace and understanding in the area.

“We’re working on that. He is one that will develop well during the season. An evaluation has to have a beginning, middle and end.”

Botafogo have made a number of signings so far this season but are still on the lookout to improve the squad ahead of the Brazilian season.

“We work with the reality of the club. There are possibilities. The market is big, with large variations.”
