Queens Park Rangers earned themselves a valuable point in their battle for Premier League survival, with a 0-0 home draw against Tottenham.

The R’s, though, can thank goalkeeper Júlio César for their point, with the Brazilian producing a string of top-class saves to keep his side in the game.

In truth, though, the West London side were much better defensively than they have been and restricted Tottenham in attacking areas. Left-back Fábio, who has been praised in recent weeks, put in another mature performance to keep winger Aaron Lennon quiet throughout.

While it was a good day for QPR’s Brazilians, Tottenham’s Sandro was forced from the pitch in the first-half following an awkward twist of his knee while passing a ball.

The Seleção star was clearly in discomfort, with the referee stopping the game immediately, before hobbling off the pitch with the assistance of the side’s physio.

With Brazil facing England at the start of February, in what will be Luiz Felipe Scolari’s first match as national team coach, Sandro will be hoping the problem is nothing overly serious.
