Aston Villa have rubbished rumours linking the club to Inter’s Brazilian winger Phillippe Coutinho according to Sky Sports.
Coutinho’s agent, Cacau Barbosa, had suggested on Thursday that the Villans had made an approach to Inter for the youngster they made their priority in the January transfer window.
While pointing out that no deal had been agreed, Barbosa claimed that the Premier League club had enquired as to the winger’s availability.
Villa have told Sky Sports that they have not made an approach for the player and that such rumours are false..
It is possible that Coutinho will be on the move during the current window, as the Brazilian is out of favour at Inter, but a move to Villa Park seems to be unlikely.
