Liverpool captain: Lucas Leiva helped me get back to form
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has credited the return of Lucas Leiva to the setup as the main reason behind his recent upturn in form.
The Reds midfielder suffered a downturn in form in the early stages of the season, resulting in calls from some quarters for the captain to be dropped.
However, Lucas' return to first team action has been beneficial for Gerrard.
"Now Lucas is back he gives me the licence to get forward a lot more, so hopefully I can add some goals to my performances. I have got the buzz that the team are improving and it is going to get better.
"I am confident, come the end of the season, I will be satisfied with myself and the team because I do believe we can finish the season really strong."
