AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has revealed that Robinho is more than happy to remain at the San Siro.

The 28-year-old striker had made it clear he wanted to leave the Rossoneri and return to Brazil, like fellow native Alexandre Pato who has joined Corinthians.

Robinho came close to sealing a return to former club Santos, however, there were problems with the player’s transfer fee and wage demands.

The Seleção international now has to remain in Italy, but Allegri has revealed Robinho is more than happy to do so.

The 45-year-old said: “Robinho is focused on Milan and he is more than happy to stay, this was also his decision. We need a week before he will be available.

“We just evaluated the situation. There are some players who would prefer to leave so they can play more often and I just gave my technical opinion, then, the club will make the final decision.”

Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani also revealed that Robinho turned down offers from other Brazilian clubs, with Flamengo, Fluminense and Atlético Mineiro reportedly interested.
