Former French international Theirry Henry has revealed his admiration for Santos star Neymar and believes the forward is ready to play in Europe.
Henry, 35, has seen a lot of the young Brazilian and believes he has the skills to put him up there with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the best players in the world.
“I follow the games of Santos and I know that Neymar is ready to play in Europe, where he will be compared to Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo,” he told Lancenet! while on holiday in Rio de Janeiro.
“He has the attributes together to get there. Today, the Brazilian league is popular in England and France and he also has responsibility for a large portion of European interest in Brazilian football.”
The forward, who is known as an avid watcher of football from all over the world, is impressed by the strength of Brazilian football and the fact that so many top players want to return to their homeland.
“It’s not for me to assess the economic factors, however, after seeing the announcement of the arrival of Alexandre Pato to Corinthians, it seems to me that there is a strong desire to return home.
“The moment is appropriate, the players do not think twice. Foreigners who come have some relationship with the country. Seedorf, for example, has a Brazilian wife.
“Anyway, this move is great for the Brazilian league, which is more competitive and attracts more attention.”
And the former Arsenal star, who has been seen wearing a Vasco da Gama shirt in the past, revealed his admiration for another Brazilian legend.
“Vasco caught my attention because they had Romario. I’m a big fan of Brazilian football in general.”
