Atlético Mineiro President Alexandre Kalil has denied reports that the club have made an offer to AC Milan for striker Robinho.

The 28-year-old has been linked with Santos, Flamengo and Fluminense as he looks to follow Alexandre Pato out of the San Siro exit and return home.

However, unlike Pato’s €15million move to Corinthians, the Rossoneri are having difficulties negotiating a deal for the former Manchester City forward due to financial implications.

Atlético had been mentioned in the Brazilian media as preparing a €10million proposal but the president has shot down these reports.

Kalil said: “We don’t have the money.

“This is why we didn’t make any offer to Galliani, nor do we have meetings planned.

“Robinho is expensive and his wage demands are too high as well.”

Santos are thought to be leading the way to sign Robinho, however, several different sources claim the Peixe will not go above their €7million proposal and are still falling short of the striker’s wage demands too.

Adriano Galliani is expected to fly back to Italy today, effectively terminating talks for Robinho’s imminent exit.
