Corinthians and Milan have confirmed Alexandre Pato’s €15million transfer will be concluded either today or tomorrow.

The Seleção star has been seeking a return to his homeland for some time now and has chosen the Club World Cup winners as his next destination.

Pato, 23, will be looking to get his career back on track after a five-year spell in Italy that has been badly disrupted by injury in its latter stages.

“The decisive meeting with Adriano Galliani will be this afternoon or tomorrow morning,” Corinthians director of sport Duilio Monteiro Alves told Globoesporte.

“The situation is heading towards its definitive conclusion.”

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi also acted like the deal had already been completeed when talking to Radio Kiss Kiss on Thursday.

He said: “Unfortunately Pato has declared he wants to go to Brazil, with the promise he’ll return to Milan in two or three years.

“We are therefore trying to sell him to Corinthians, the most prestigious club in South America.”

The transfer of Pato, when completed, will likely break the record for a Brazilian transfer that does not rely upon financial assistance from a third-party investor, as in the case of Carlos Tevez’s move to Corinthians.
