Corinthians to name new training ground after Ronaldo
Corinthians are planning to name their new training base 'CT Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima' after former player Ronaldo.
The Brazil legend played for the recently crowned Club World Cup Winners for three years from 2009, before retiring in February 2011.
Ronaldo was involved in the construction of Corinthians’ current training ground, the CT Joaquim Grava in Tietê Ecological Park, which the new complex will be built alongside next year.
The base is expected to have three pitches, one artificial surface and accommodation for more than 150 athletes, which is scheduled to be completed by 2014 according to Lance!
Other planned facilities include a mini-stadium with a 200-seat capacity, jogging tracks, classrooms and medical, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy departments.
Ronaldo, who won the Copa do Brasil and the Campeonato Paulista with Corinthians in 2009, has been an ambassador for the club since leaving.
