Flamengo are set for a meeting with AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani on Monday afternoon to discuss the future of the Italian side’s Brazilian star Robinho.

Robinho, 28, is thought to have asked for a return to Brazil and, with both Flamengo and former side Santos reportedly in the hunt for his signature, Galliani has headed to Brazil to negotiate a deal.

The Rubro-Negro are set to make the first meeting with the Milan director and intend to use an initial €7.5 million of their recently negotiated kit deal with Adidas to fund the transfer, as well as adding €2.5 million from their own funds to meet Milan’s asking price of €10 million.

Galliani arrived in Brazil on Monday to spend Christmas and will also meet with Santos, whose initial offer was slightly short of that asking price.

It is thought that Robinho will command wages of about €350,000 a month should he return to Brazil, with both clubs searching for ways to finance such a deal.
