Ze Eduardo looking forward to moving to Vasco da Gama
Siena striker Zé Eduardo is looking forward to moving back to Brazil with Vasco da Gama next month and in particular the rivalry with his friend and Flamengo striker Vanger Love.
Zé Eduardo, 25, is heading back to Brazil having to failed to adjust to life in Italy, first with Genoa, and then with Siena this season and has blamed the cold weather for the injuries that he has suffered.
However, the striker is looking forward to life in Rio and the ‘Clássico dos Milhões’ derby between Vasco and Flamengo, which has been dubbed the ‘Clássico do Amor’ in honour of Vanger Love for Flamengo and Zé Eduardo of Vasco, who is nicknamed ‘Zé Love’.
“Vagner is my friend, we lived together at the time we were at Palmeiras,” he told Globo Esporte.
“But that is out of bounds. On the field we will have that rivalry, and I want to win. I always try to honor the colors I wear, and this time will be no different.
“When I get to São Januário I will do everything to give joy to the people.”
And history in Rio is on the side of Zé Eduardo after putting in great performances in the city when at Santos, including all three goals in a 3-0 victory over Fluminense in 2010.
“Engenhão in that game I made three goals for Santos against the team that would become the Brazilian champion. But that is past. I want to get my present and my future helping Vasco winning major championships.”
