Former Corinthians star Alex has revealed he is finally feeling at home with Qatari club Al-Gharafa after scoring two goals and creating one for fellow Brazilian Diego Tardelli in the 3-1 win over Al-Wakrah.

Alex, 30, moved to Al-Gharafa, who installed Alain Perrin as their new head coach this week, in July this year for €6m and is finally finding his feet in the Middle East.

“When you’re happy, the job pays better and the result is more pleasurable,” he told Lancenet!

“In today’s match, beyond the passes, I managed to score two goals for the first time in the same game and help my team. I was making good passes, but scoring is always special, I am happy with it.

“As I left Corinthians and made the decision to come to Qatar I knew it would not be a fleeting thing. Today this club is my home.”

Al-Gharafa is Alex’s second club outside of Brazil after a two-year spell in Russia with Spartak Moscow.
