AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato has been ruled out of action until January as he recovers from another injury.

The injury-prone forward has barely featured for the Rossoneri over the last year due to a series of muscular injuries and thigh problems.

Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri left the Brazilian out of his team to face Reggina on Tuesday, which the San Siro outfit won 3-0, despite claims from Pato’s agent that he was “100 per cent fit”.

Now it has been officially confirmed that the Seleção striker will be unavailable for the rest of the year.

Allegri said: “As for Pato, we’ll talk about his return in the New Year.

“By January 6 he will be at the disposal of the squad.”

Pato has started just three league games for Milan this season and is yet to find the net.
