Corinthians boss Tite has dismissed suggestions that they go into the World Club Cup final against Chelsea as underdogs.

But the coach warned his players that they would have to be at their very best to overcome a strong Chelsea side.

Tite told reporters: “We cannot make any mistakes, each individual player has to be in very good condition on the pitch and has to be aware of the role he is playing. We have to have courage, we have to have the spirit to play with respect.”

The coach also blasted his critics who believe that Corinthians are behaving too much like underdogs ahead of the final: “Respecting my opponent doesn’t necessarily mean that we think that we’re underdogs.

“Let me be very blunt – at Corinthians, we want to win. I just seriously want to win.”

Corinthians are bidding to become the first South American side to win the World Club Cup since 2006, as Santos were humiliated by Barcelona last year.
