Santos and Brazil forward Neymar believes that Corinthians can emerge victorious from this weekend’s Club World Cup final with Chelsea, but insists he will not be supporting either side.

Neymar, 20, has been on holiday in America in recent weeks but is looking forward to watching the game in Japan, with many of his international team-mates set to feature for both sides.

While the young star’s Santos side were unable to secure global glory in last year’s tournament, when they were comprehensively beaten by Barcelona in the final, he believes that Corinthians could shock Chelsea in Yokohama.

“I think it’s possible that Corinthians could win. Football is unpredictable,” Neymar is quoted as saying by Xinhua. “I’m not going to cheer for either team, I have friends on both sides.”

The final between South America and Europe’s finest will take place on Sunday at 10.30am GMT and will be covered live on BBC 2 in the United Kingdom.
