Chelsea star David Luiz insists that he is fully prepared for a continued role in defensive midfield, even if he does not know how long he will play in the position.
David Luiz, 25, played in midfield against Monterrey in the Club World Cup semi-final earlier this week and impressed greatly in his new role, prompting calls for him to remain in the position.
The Brazilian, though, is not sure whether the experiment will remain in place long-term.
"I felt good. These are things we work on every day, not just something Rafa came up with from nothing," Luiz told Terra Esporte.
"It"s not just a basis of ‘Go there, David, play"—these are things we work on. I am already familiar [with the role], so it becomes easier.
"I always want to help, but I"m not sure if I will continue there. I love playing football, regardless of where I play on the field. It is what"s best for Chelsea and not for David Luiz."
