Corinthians coach Tite has called on his players to take strength from the travelling fans’ support and win the World Club Cup for them.

Corinthians supporters are travelling en masse to Japan to cheer their team on against Al-Ahly on Thursday with hopes of a final against Chelsea.

Tite told the press conference: “We can make more than 35 million people happy. We want to bring that energy to our team. We know the history of Corinthians.

“Fans who have left employment, gave up their time to be with the family, to be here. The responsibility of this great club must be respected.

“My mouth is dry now. This expectation is part of something extraordinary. We built this possibility. We will not give up, because we have worked hard to get to this moment. We want to be worthy of winning the trophy. We do not want to go out tomorrow.

“We have the right to dream, for our work to be rewarded and go to the final. It’s an emotional anxiety. It is human. There are expectations for us and Chelsea.”
