Turkish giants Galatasaray have confirmed they are interested in signing Real Madrid star Kaká, who is said to be free to leave the Spanish champions in January.

Kaká, 30, has struggled to find a place in the starting line-up in Madrid under Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho and the club are said to be willing to let the playmaker leave once the transfer window opens as they would like to free up the money used to pay the Brazilians wages to give Cristiano Ronaldo a new contract.

Galatasaray are keen to add a big name to their squad and the coach Fatih Terim knows who he would like.

“The president asked me if I would like the signings of Sneijder or Diego,” Terim is quoted as saying by Lancenet!

“I told him I did not want either of them, my favourite is Kaká.”

And the president of the Istanbul club Aysal Unal has said he will do his best to make it happen.

He said: “My companions and I work with all our strength to fulfil the wishes of Fatih Terim.

“If he says he wants a player, we have to sign him in January. We will do for Terim because he is a very important professional for us.

“Now we need to know if Real Madrid are willing to negotiate the sale of the player.”
