Hulk apologies to Zenit teammates after Spalletti snub
Hulk has apologised to fellow Zenit St Petersburg teammates after snubbing coach Luciano Spalletti and launching a tirade at coaching staff in their 1-0 win over AC Milan on Tuesday.
The Seleção striker stormed off the pitch after being substituted in the dying stages of the Champions League clash but has now recognised the error of his ways.
The forward told reporters in the aftermath: "If I behaved incorrectly, I’m ready to apologize before my teammates, I moved to the Zenit to play and win, but not to sit on a bench, walk around the beautiful city or make a lot of money.
"I arrived in St. Petersburg to win new titles with Zenit. And, I think, I’m trying to put all the effort into it.”
In a post-match interview, Hulk stated his intention to leave the club in the January transfer window unless the relationship between him and Spalletti could be repaired.
