Chelsea star Oscar believes that Corinthians are desperate to win the Fifa Club World Cup in Japan this month.

Oscar, 21, who moved to the European champions from Internacional in the summer, believes that the Brazilians will be difficult opponents if they both manage to reach the final, but insists Chelsea are taking the tournament very seriously.

“Corinthians have a very strong team, well organized,” the playmaker is quoted saying in Fohla de S.Paulo.

“It will not be easy. They will be desperate to win the Club World Cup – it is very important in South America.”

And Oscar, who had a great start to his time in England before a recent dip in form, believes that they now have greater incentive to win the tournament after getting knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday, becoming the first champions to not pass through from the group stage in the tournaments history.

“It’s a chance to say you’re world champion,” added the Brazilian.
