Porto want €10m from Grêmio to keep on-loan midfielder Souza
Grêmio are trying their best to sign on-loan Porto midfielder Souza on a permanent deal, but the fee could be a sticking point as the Portuguese giants are demanding €10 million.
Souza, 23, who moved to Porto from Vasco da Gama in 2010, has been a key part of the Grêmio side that has finished third in the Brasileirão this season and has revealed that he see’s his future in Porto Alegre.
The midfielder, who has scored twice in 33 league games this season, praised the club for trying to keep him
“Grêmio wants me and is chasing and doing everything to try keep me permanently,” he told reporters after Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Internacional.
The player’s future is to be sorted out in the next couple of days, and there have been rumours that the club could use young midfielder Fernando in the deal.
However, Fernando is one of the best young prospects playing in Brazil at the moment and the club do not intend to lose the 20-year-old as they gear up for a serious challenge at both the league and Copa Libertadores next year.
