FIFA president Sepp Blatter has visited Brazil legend Pele at his home in São Paulo as he recovers from hip surgery.

Blatter took time off from touring Brazil as part of preparations ahead of the 2013 Confederations Cup held on home soil.

Visiting the former player’s home, Blatter said: “It is always very special to meet Pele the king and discuss football with him.”

Pele has recently undergone surgery at the Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo after complaining of pain in the hip region during a routine appointment.

This comes after Brazil were handed a nightmare draw with European championship runners-up Italy, Olympic and Gold Cup champions Mexico and Asian champions Japan drawn in their group.
