Santos close to completing Lucas Viatri signing
Santos and a third-party investor are reportedly in the process of confirming details of a deal to bring Boca Juniors striker Lucas Viatri to the Vila Belmiro.
Lancenet report that four meetings between the player's representatives and the investor have taken place, one also involving Santos directors, with only minor details now left to complete.
The value of the potential deal has not been revealed, but it is known that Portuguese giants Sporting failed with a €5 million bid only this summer.
Lance report interest from other parties in Brazil, but it is believed to be the preference of the player to link up with Neymar and fellow Argentine Patito Rodriguez at Santos in 2013.
With Willian José already signed up for the next 18-months, Viatri will be the club's second striking addition - having been found lacking up-front this campaign.
Viatri has played three times for the Argentina National Team, but has lost his place at Boca Juniors to Santiago Silva after a series of injuries
