Santos star Neymar is among the final three nominees for the 2012 Puskás Award for the best goal of the year.

The Brazilian forward, who won the accolade last year, is nominated for an effort against Internacional in March which saw him evade a string of challenges as he ran the length of the pitch to finish neatly.

Atlético Madrid’s Radamel Falcao, for his acrobatic strike against America de Cali, and Fenerbahce’s Miroslav Stoch, for an incredible 20-yard volley against Genclerbirligi, have also made the final three.

The three goals received the most votes during the first phase of voting and will now be up for a second vote, which the public will again determine, before the winner is revealed.

The FIFA Puskás Award, created in honour and in memory of Ferenc Puskás, will be presented for the fourth year in a row at the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala 2012, which will be held at the Kongresshaus in Zurich on January 7 2013.
