Brazil legend Ronaldo has admitted that he is worried that his World Cup goalscoring record in danger of being shattered at the 2014 World Cup.

German striker Miroslav Klose is closing on the Brazilian’s record of 15 goals in World Cup matches, only needing two goals to surpass the milestone.

“That worries me a little bit, but not much,” admitted Ronaldo. “I think my history, and his history are separate, everyone makes their own story.

“Regardless, if Klose does score in the World Cup and he matches me or surpasses me, I know my history will not be erased by this.

“Therefore, I have a small concern, but there is no envy, since he’s playing and I’m not. We both have our own stories, mine has already been written but he is writing his now. It is what it is.”

However, it remains to be seen if Klose will be called up to the Germany squad as they continue to nuture their new generation of footballers as the striker, who will be 36 in 2014, may be considered too old.
