The squad contains few surprises with the majority of players called those who helped the club to the Copa Libertadores title earlier in the year.

Chinese midfielder Chen Zhizhao has been omitted from the squad list, after failing to make an impact at the club, whilst Peruvian Luis Ramirez will return to his homeland to look for a new club ahead of the 2013 season.

Corinthians do find themselves short at full-back, with Brazil Under-20 international Denner denied a chance to travel with the squad after suffering knee ligament damage in October.

The one doubt in the 23-man party is midfielder Guilherme, with FIFA requesting confirmation as to why the player’s transfer from Portuguesa took place outside of the summer transfer window.

Should Guilherme be unable to participate in the tournament, his place in the touring party would be taken by fellow midfielder Willian Arão.

Official 23-man squad for the FIFA Club World Cup:

Goalkeepers: Cássio, Julio Cesar, Danilo Fernandes

Defenders: Alessandro, Fábio Santos, Guilherme Andrade, Chicão, Paulo André, Wallace, Anderson Polga, Felipe

Midfielders: Ralf, Paulinho, Guilherme (Willian Arão), Edenilson, Douglas, Danilo, Giovanni

Forwards: Emerson Sheik, Paulo Guerrero, Juan Manuel Martínez, Romarinho, Jorge Henrique
