Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Fabio can emulate the success of his twin brother, Rafael.

Rafael has established himself as Manchester United’s first choice rightback this season while Fabio has been farmed out on loan to QPR.

Ferguson told reporters: “Ability wise, there’s very little between the two, but Rafael’s got more experience now because he’s played more games for us.”

Fabio, 22, has made 21 appearances for Manchester United since he and his twin brother moved from Fluminense in 2007.

The Brazilian has made just four appearances at QPR since moving to London on loan this season after failing to secure a place at leftback, with Patrice Evra and Alexander Büttner ahead of him.

The twins have made two appearances each so far for the Seleção as they look to make the two fullback positions their own.
