Brazil coach Mano Menezes tries out two different line-up's ahead of the second leg of the Superclasico de las Americas
Brazil coach Mano Menezes tried out two different formations and line-up's in training on Tuesday morning ahead of Wednesday night's second leg of the Superclasico de las Americas against Argentina at the Bombonera, Buenos Aires.
The Seleção are currently training at Parque Ecológico Tietê, the training ground of Copa Libertadores champions Corinthians, and Globo Esporte have released the two line-up's that Menezes tried out:
1st: Jefferson; Marcos Rocha, Réver, Leonardo Silva, Carlinhos; Ralf, Paulinho, Jean, Thiago Neves; Neymar, Fred
2nd: Diego Cavalieri; Lucas Marques, Réver, Leonardo Silva, Fábio Santos; Arouca, Paulinho, Thiago Neves, Fellype Gabriel; Neymar, Fred
While the team has yet to be officially announced, it does seem that Fluminense captain Fred will lead the attack alongside Neymar. This will be the first time the striker has played for the national team since the friendlies against Costa Rica and Mexico in October last year.
Menezes told reporters: "We're looking at this game in isolation instead of as part of the two legs. It is in the distance. We have lost the reference from the first match.
"Brazilian players are at the end of the season. We noticed the tiredness on the face of each. We did a short workout and plan for a long period of recovery until the match. Many are taking the first opportunity[with the national team] and within that we will do better. The team will be announched tomorrow (Wednesday)."
The first leg of the tie was played back in September with Brazil beating Argentina 2-1, with goals from Neymar and Paulinho. The return game should have been played on October in Resistencia, Argentina, however a power cut at the stadium caused the game to be postponed.
