Brazilians Muriqui, Cléo and Paulão have secured another title in China, winning the FA Cup in fine-style with a 5-3 aggregate victory over Guizhou Renhe, assisted by fellow South Americans Lucas Barrios and Dario Conca.
Coming into the tie at the Tianhe stadium off the back of a 1-1 away draw, Evergrande took the lead after just a minute through a stunning bicycle kick from former Colo Colo striker Barrios.
Chinese defender Zhang Linpeng added a second in the first-half, before Guizhou pulled one back shortly after the break through Spaniard Rafa Jorda.
Evergrande re-asserted themself on the game, though, with Cléo replacing Muriqui shortly before Barrios scored a second to make the score 3-1 on the afternoon.
In the final minutes, Fluminense target Dario Conca added a fourth from Cléo’s fine work on the right flank, before Rao Weihui added a consolation for the visitors.
Evergrande become only the third Chinese side to secure a domestic double since the founding of the Chinese Super League.
