Atlético Mineiro are contemplating a move for former Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, according to reports.

Xinhua reports that the Belo Horizonte outfit is keeping their options open about making an offer to the Brazilian after speculation surrounding the renewal of current coach Cuca’s contract.

Cuca told reporters about the rumours: “Good luck to Scolari if he comes. He will have everything in place for him. But you must ask the president of the club if he is happy with me or not.

“I have done everything I have been asked. If the club thinks it can find somebody better than me then there will be no problem, I will walk away.”

Scolari, who won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil, is currently out of a job after being sacked by Palmeiras in September.

The veteran coach has also had ill-fated coaching stints with Chelsea and Portugal before returning to his native Brazil.
