Botafogo defender Dória still hopeful of a top four finish and Libertadores qualification
Botafogo defender Dória is stll optimistic that his team can finish in the top four this season and qualify for the Copa Libertadores, despite being 5 points behind São Paulo with just three games to play.
Dória, 18, has been one of the breakthrough stars of this year's Brasileirão and believes that Botafogo still have a chance of overtaking São Paulo because all the games left are important.
He told Lancenet: "The championship will still be alive in those last rounds. The title is already Fluminense's, but some teams are still fighting. Sport is fighting to stay in up and we [Botafogo] for the Libertadores. For São Paulo each game will also be a final. There is no easy rounds, every game has their purpose. It will be no cakewalk."
The young defender is delighted how his first season as a professional has gone, but would love to finish on a high note.
"Playing in my first championship and then qualifying for the Libertadores would be cool, right? Botafogo has not played in it for a long time and is something that can be a milestone in my career," he added.
