Chelsea defender David Luiz believes that Radamel Falcao would be a perfect fit for the club should the striker make the move to Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old Colombian has his heart set on a move to West London and Chelsea have already opened negotiations with Atlético Madrid over an estimated £50 million January transfer.

David Luiz saw Falcao first-hand on Thursday morning as the Seleção drew 1-1 with Colombia in New Jersey, and claims that the striker's arrival at Stamford Bridge would delight the current squad.

When asked if Falcao would be the right man for the Blues, he told reporters: "Of course [he'd be a great fit]. All of the players would be happy because Falcao is a great player. It's particularly hard to stop him."

Club chiefs, acting on the instruction of owner Roman Abramovich, have made it clear to Falcao that they want to activate the €60m (£48.1m) release clause in his contract.

The striker, nicknamed El Tigre, has scored 13 times in just 11 games this season, including a hat-trick as Atlético demolished Chelsea 4-1 in the Uefa Super Cup.
