Bayern Munich’s Dante has been voted among the Bundesliga’s best players for the 2011/2012 season.

The Brazilian centre-back has received the accolade after players in the three German divisions voted for their team of the season.

The 29-year-old was at Borussia Mönchengladbach last season before joining Bayern for an estimated fee of €5 million.

Dante said: “I am very happy to have received this award from the association of professional players in Germany.

“It’s a nice recognition for the work that was done last season when I played for Borussia Mönchengladbach. It was a very good season and the team was able make a great run.

“Therefore, I would like to thank everyone who helped me win this award, without you I could not do it: players, coaches, friends and fans.

“This is an individual award, but with the collective merit. Thank you all.”

Dante has played all eleven games for league leaders Bayern this season.

The full Bundesliga team of the season was as follows:

Marc-Andre Tues Stegen (goalkeeper), Philipp Lahm (right-back), Mats Hummels (defender), Dante (defender), Lukasz Piszczek (left-back), Franck Ribéry (midfielder), David Alaba (midfielder), Shinji Kagawa (midfielder), Marco Reus (midfielder), Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (attacker) and Mario Gomez (striker).
