Marseille defender Lucas Mendes praises Fluminense coach Abel Braga
Marseille defender Lucas Mendes has praised Fluminense coach Abel Braga for his title winning campaign.
- Abel Braga says his desire is to stay with the champions for 2013
- Fred delighted with Fluminense's title win
Fluminense recently claimed the Brasileirão title as they sit ten points clear at the top of the league with just three rounds remaining.
The 60-year-old had a short and unsuccessful spell in charge of Marseille in 2000 but Mendes believes the coach would have better luck should he decide to return to Europe one day.
The former Coritiba player said: "He is an excellent coach who has done a very good job.
"He did not have a good experience in Marseille but it was a matter of time. There was not a good cohesion with the players.
"I am sure that if he decides to return to Europe, he will do a good job."
Braga has announced his desire to remain at the Rio de Janeiro club, despite the fact his contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the year.
